Citizens for Adams 12 Schools

Throughout this campaign, I've come in contact with so many wonderful people like Krista-Kae Rockeman. Krista-Kae and her husband have a daughter, Makenna, who now attends Westlake Middle School.

I have to share part of a story from Krista-Kae that was told to me about her experience with Adams 12 Five Star Schools and how it all adds up to undoubtedly supporting 3A and 3B.  Here's what Krista-Kae said: 

We are proud parents.

Last year, when I was researching schools for (our daughter) Makenna, I had a conversation with the principal of Westlake Middle School, Dr. Gordon.  What he said to me was so profound and I wanted to share it with you.    He said," If I don't have the community surround and support my school, my school will fail.  I need to have this community band around Westlake and talk about it at the basketball, baseball and football games.  I need you to believe in my school.”   I was instantly convinced.    I want to thank our parents for instilling the importance of community and making education such an important part of our lives.  I can remember driving around as a little girl with my father and him saying, “we have to live here so you can get a great education.”  We couldn't afford the home and I know my dad struggled to make ends meet, but he was adamant about where we went (to school).  I know he spent a lot of time researching and agonizing over the choices he had to make.  He sacrificed a lot for our education. When I lived with my mom in high school, she also struggled to make ends meet so I could stay at a great high school.    

It's so cool to see this come full circle and when you believe in the public school system and believe in the principals, it really does work. 

I've had the distinguished opportunity to hear hundreds of stories from parents and students who's lives have been postively impacted by the Adams 12 Schools. They stand firmly behind our schools and that's why they're voting YES for 3A and 3B on Tuesday.

Join us!  Go to the polls -- and make sure your friends and family have all voted!  We want to keep the real-life stories like the one told by Krista-Kae alive for many generations to come.  That's why it's critical to make your voice heard!  Vote YES on 3A and 3B on Tuesday!
