What happens if 3A and 3B fail?
Sadly, it means there will be dramatic losses in every classroom across the Five Star District. It also means our economy -- right here in our own backyard -- will take yet another hit as another 165 jobs are lost creating an $8 million drain on Adams and Broomfield Counties.
Watch a video about the Adams 12 budget here.
Let's take a closer look at 3A.
If 3A doesn't pass, the typical elementary school will:
- Increase class size by about four students per classroom.
- Lose teachers.
If 3A doesn't pass, the typical middle school will:
- Increase class size by at least four students per class putting class sizes well over 30 students.
- Lose valuable classes such as orchestra, honors classes and industrial arts classes.
If 3A doesn't pass, the typical high school will:
- Increase class size to more than 30 students per class.
- Lose valuable classes such as Advanced Placement, Accelerated Reading and Foundations of Math and many elective classes.
Now, let's look at 3B.
If 3B doesn't pass:
-
Our neighborhoods will miss their opportunity to infuse $80 million into our local economy...all with NO tax rate increase.
-
Already overcrowded schools will have more portable trailer classrooms added.
-
Safety concerns will grow because advanced security measures can't be implemented.
-
Schools will fall further behind in maintenance and upkeep thus diminishing the quality of students' learning environment.
-
Students' technology needs will go unmet thus hindering them from learning 21st century workplace skills.
But your YES vote on 3A and 3B can avoid these threats to our great schools. Talk to your friends, neighbors and family members. Urge them to stand behind their schools and help build a bright tomorrow by voting YES on 3A and 3B.
